Walleyes will usually bite sporatically throughout the day and night, but the best action usually occurs around sunrise and sunset. The morning bite usually starts 1/2 hour before sunrise and lasts two to three hours. The evening bite usually starts about an hour before sunset and lasts for one to two hours after sunset. Mobility is one of the keys to Red Lake ice fishing. The ability to access good, safe, consistantly plowed roads that reach well out into the middle of Red Lake is helpful.
